BPS Research Digest

The British Psychological Society’s Research Digest blog reaches millions of readers each year, with accessible summaries of the latest peer-reviewed research. As the Editor is taking some parental leave, we have a temporary vacancy for a Blogger to join our team.

Psychology BloggerTemporary: 16th August – 14th NovemberPart Time: Ideally 0.8 FTE, but could be flexible for the right candidateGrade 6: £35,058 (pro-rata)

Although based remotely (with right to work in the UK), you’ll work closely with your Research Digest colleagues to produce engaging reports on new psychology studies, in a style that entertains and educates. You will show readers how the findings are relevant to their lives, but without resorting to hype. Where appropriate, you should have the confidence and competence to criticise studies. There may also be the opportunity to write about research in different ways, including drawing on our archive.

As one of our writers, you’ll have the satisfaction of seeing your work reach our large international audience and get picked up by the world’s biggest publications, from The Guardian to New York Magazine.

You must already have experience writing about psychology research for news outlets or magazines (online or print) aimed at the general public. Editing experience an advantage.

You must have an undergraduate degree in psychology or an equivalent related qualification.
