Rankings shuffle but these 36 IP law firms continue to represent in the Austin area
Human Resources News – Human Resources News Headlines | Bizjournals.com
The 2025 list of intellectual property law firms in the Austin area tracks patent prosecution work and other IP needs, such as trademark and copyright registrations. The list is open to any law firm with a local office that handles IP work. The ABJ gathers information from surveys sent to firm representatives. Only offices that respond are considered for the list. The primary rank criteria counts the number of local patent attorneys and the size of the local IP group. Totals for listmakers this year have held steady compared to last year, with the top 20 firms reporting 157 patent attorneys and 226 attorneys in local IP practices. In 2024 the top 20 reported 153 and 227 respectively. Patent attorneys are required to have additional degrees specializing in areas such as engineering and bioscience. Although it is not necessary to have a patent attorney on staff to handle some intellectual property services, such as trademarks, the top listmakers all report having these specialized attorneys in Austin. *See also related list of Law Firms in the Austin area.
