UNOC - Asia and the Pacific: Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific: Asia and the Pacific is the world’s most disaster-prone region. The increasing impacts of climate change and natural hazards continue to be the main drivers of humanitarian needs, exacerbated by the increasing number of complex and protracted conflicts, and economic, political and social crises. Protracted humanitarian situations in countries such as Afghanistan and Myanmar are affecting millions of people who need humanitarian assistance and protection. We strive to make a difference for the many children and young people living in challenging conditions across the Asia-Pacific region. Unfortunately, social conditions affect countless children and youths, which led to the founding of our organisation and our determination to assist them. We have great respect for the other organisations in the area that are also doing excellent work. However, we believe that more can be done for disadvantaged children and young people.
