Defining Talent Management

Talent Management is the strategic process of identifying, attracting, developing, retaining, and promoting individuals who have the potential to make significant contributions to an organisation’s success. It involves the identification and nurturing of high-potential employees, as well as the development and deployment of effective strategies to support the growth and success of those employees.
The goal of talent management is to create a workforce that is capable of achieving an organization’s short-term and long-term goals. This requires a systematic approach to recruitment, selection, training, development, and performance management. Effective talent management also involves aligning individual goals and aspirations with those of the organisation, and providing employees with opportunities to grow and develop in ways that support both their own career aspirations and the strategic objectives of the organisation.
